A Ring of Truth???

Atticus was supposed to be studying when I found him pacing around his iPad and muttering something about inane, incomprehensible, indecipherable, inexplicable, and insanity. “Atticus, “ I said, “You should be studying not wandering around and muttering.” “Well, it just so happens I am pacing to think since thinking makes me pace so I pace to think” he said. “That makes absolutely no sense so stop manufacturing nonsensical false logic and get to work.” I replied tersely. “Well,” Atticus sniffed, “It is quite apparent that you are not familiar with Dim Don’s circular logic, a logical fallacy where the conclusion of an argument is used as one of the premises to support itself; thus “A is true because B is true; B is true because A is true. Are you aware that circular logic forms the mainframe Dim Don and his Mutant Minions expertly and successfully employ as they continually replay their loops of faux truths via false arguments that have now become firmly entrenched in MAGA gospel?” “Look Atticus,”I said, “Unleashing torrents of words with great confidence and zero evidence patterned in circular logic still does not constitute truth.” That’s true.” Atticus sniffed, “but you have missed my point. Truth supported by evidence has nothing to do with MAGA circular logic because in the MAGA myrmidons world view Power Always Trumps Truth as long as it leads to the forgone conclusion that the right are right!” and he proceeded to read me Dim Don’s top five favs:
― 1. “Most news is fake” Result: Dim Don’s negative press coverage is untrue. Because: The news is Fake.”

2. “Pontiff Pope Leo XIV supports Iran and is endangering Catholics. Result: The Pope supports Iran acquiring nuclear weapons Because: He supports Iran so Catholics are endangered.”

3. “The Southern Poverty Law Center is one of the greatest political scams in American History. Results: The Southern Poverty Law Center has been charged with FRAUD. Because: The Southern Poverty Law Center is a scam.”

4. “The 2020 election was rigged” Results:: “Dim Don lost the 2016 election. Because: “The 2016 election was rigged.”

5. “Mail-in ballots are a scam and corrupt. Results: Only voting in person is safe. Because: Mail -in ballots are a corrupt scam,”

Then Atticus stopped pacing, thought for a moment and said, “You know, I am reminded of Stewart Stafford, “Applying logic to potentially illogical behaviour is to construct a house on shifting foundations. The structure will inevitably collapse.” Then rapidly flicking his tail back and forth, he sent his I told you so stare my way and growled, “ Evidently evil takes hold in abundance when Evidence is expunged, eviscerated and eradicated in the pursuit, evasion and subsequent eviction of TRUTH!” (Atticus)
